Building an intentional gratitude practice.

You cannot be anxious and grateful at the same time. The first time I heard that statement I was hooked. About 2 years ago when I started my personal growth journey I decided I would start looking for the blessings in my life. I don't mean the big, obvious blessings like your home, car, or family (although we are so blessed for those) I mean the small blessings. Like a warm breeze, a cozy blanket on a snowy day, a hug from your cuddly child, a kiss on the forehead from your spouse, those small blessings in your everyday routine.

The more you practice noticing and becoming present with those small blessings you encounter everyday, the easier this practice will become. When I first started this I thought it was hokey, and honestly a little cheesy. However upon doing research about all the health benefits this little practice can do for you, I decided why not give it a try? The more I practiced it the easier it became and the happier I felt. Gratitude is a key factor to a more fulfilled life. If you look at situations through a lens of gratitude you will become a more positive person.

The many benefits of a powerful gratitude practice are:

-A stronger immune sytem

- A more positive outlook on situations

-Better sleep

-Improved mood

-Better relationships

-Less anxiety

So get out a journal and start writing your many blessings! If you find it hard to start just write down 2 or 3. The more you do it, the more they will come to you. I promise you will feel so invigorated after creating this practice in your life.
